Meet Our Staff

Jennifer Turner Mattioli

Practice manager at Kenwood Animal Hospital and manager of Kenwood Canine Clubhouse since October 2005, Jennifer Turner Mattioli is a long-time animal lover, and at one point hosted six cats, three gerbils, a mouse, a tank of fish and a lop-eared rabbit. Originally from Four Corners, Jen attended high school in Florida and pursued degrees in Zoology at the University of Maryland and Operatic Voice Performance at Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at Catholic University of America. She has worked in the animal health related field since her early teens, holding just about every imaginable position at a 24 hour emergency animal hospital before moving on to become Trial Administrator for Animal Clinical Investigations, a veterinary clinical trial organization, with special interest in the development of novel oncologic therapies for cats and dogs.

Jen is a long-time associate of Dr. Dougherty, having worked together previously at another animal hospital over the course of several years. Jen enjoys working at Kenwood Animal Hospital, kennel, and doggy daycare because the doctors and staff are committed to going "above and beyond" for every client. She feels the hospital offers the highest caliber of client and patient services.

Jen and her husband are active supporters of numerous local and national animal welfare and rescue organizations. They are currently kept company at home by two formerly "stray" cats following apparent run-ins with vehicles: Bumper, a male domestic shorthair with one ear and Ghita, a three-legged female domestic short-hair, both of whom work tirelessly to keep the Mattioli household free from toy mouse infestation.

Jeff Brown

A veteran in the pet healthcare field, Jeff Brown has over twenty years of experience caring for animals in a variety of roles at a number of veterinary hospitals. Originally from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Jeff enjoys his work at Kenwood Doggy Daycare simply because he loves animals and is glad to be working with others who care as much about them as he does. As a full-time Canine Clubhouse Attendant, Jeff's favorite part of his job is playing with the dogs in the daycare and supervising them while they play with each other.

When not at work, Jeff has a variety of outdoor hobbies that keep him entertained including bowling, skiing, and traveling. He also enjoys attending horse races, watching football and cooking.
